Cedric “C.J.” Lofton was killed a day before his 18th birthday. He was suffering from a mental health crisis. He was promised by cops that he would be taken from his home to a mental health facility but he was sure he'd be taken to jail. He was sure he'd be killed. Despite his delirium, he was right on both counts.

Many people, especially Black women on Twitter, are comparing Kevin Samuels to Christian Toby Obumseli regarding the responses to both men's deaths.

On April 25, two police officers in East Landing, Michigan, shot and injured 20-year-old Black man DeAnthony VanAtten in a Meijer supermarket parking lot. It started when officers answered a 911 call about a Black man with a gun. Now, police have released body camera footage of the shooting.

Charles Johnson IV filed a lawsuit against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday. According to the suit, hospital officials ignored signs Kira Johnson was bleeding internally. Her husband pleaded with nurses for his wife to be readmitted, but was told his wife ‘wasn’t a priority.’

A white couple was reportedly "yelling racist and homophobic slurs," according to the poster of a Tik Tok video, and behaving unruly until got kicked off of a JetBlue flight in West Palm Beach, Florida. But to let one mile-high Karen tell it, they were kicked off the flight simply because they're Trump supporters. 

29-year-old Jalen Randle was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, last week and his family is outraged and looking for answers. Police were after him over felony warrants. He was shot after exiting a car with a bag HPD said contained a gun.

Despite countless incidents in the intervening 30 years, police accountability continues to be sidelined in favor of unchecked funding increases.
