De La Hoya Mayweather Boxing

Police say boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s uncle, Roger Mayweather, was arrested at a Las Vegas apartment he owns in an attack on a female boxer he once trained.

An aide to Clark County District Attorney David Roger said Tuesday that criminal charges were pending following 48-year-old Roger Mayweather’s arrest Sunday morning.

Police say an officer responding to a 911 call found Mayweather fighting with a 35-year-old woman at the apartment in northwest Las Vegas.

Mayweather was arrested on felony coercion and battery charges and later freed from the Clark County jail. It was not immediately clear if he posted bail or had a lawyer.

Police say the woman was treated at a Las Vegas hospital for injuries including hand marks around her neck.
