We’ve seen newscasters make this mistake before, but rarely has a politician flubbed a line so badly, and at such a momentous occasion.
Earlier Tuesday New York Governor David Paterson slipped up on the phrase “race to the top” (referencing the government’s program for educational funding), accidentally saying “race to the cock.”
The governor (and almost everybody behind him) took the gaffe in stride, but come on, it’s funny!
