New York — Thirsty Four Loko lovers are proving no price is too high for “blackout in a can,” gobbling up the sweet booze on Craigslist for more than three times the sticker price.
“Four Loko 4 Sale,” reads one of a half-dozen ads on Craigslist.com. “Unopened cans or cases for sale for collectible use only! Must be 21 years of age! $7.00 per can.”
On the shelf at your local deli, Four Loko runs devotees $2 or $3. The high resale price comes as New York and the rest of the country prepares to ban the caffeine-infused alcoholic energy drinks later this month.
