If Mr.Wyclef truly desires to serve the people of Haiti then maybe he should try to get elected first as a Mayor, or even as a Senator (as Pres. Obama did). Learn the ropes of how power is organized and distributed in Haiti and address the need of the people at the local level. Then once he’s demonstrated a decent level of sucess, then, in a few years maybe he should consider running for President or Prime Minister.

Out of the tradegy of the last earthquake the Haitian people were given an opportunity to rebuild (nation building). Billions of dollars were donated (yes, some still to be collected), the IMF (International monetary Fund) forgave Haiti’s debt, other countries including Canada also fargave Haiti’s debt and there is a host of goodwill not just for Haiti but for Haitian people from NGO’s and peope from around the world. I imagine the last thing Haitian would want or need to nation build on such a large scale is Wyclef, regardless of his popularity and his good intention. Because without the skills or experience necessary for such a huge role he runs the risk of of being a figure head (there in the position but no real power).

I like it. I like his confidence in himself. He has always displayed a consciousnes in his music. I think he could win. He is loved in the states and the people of Haiti love him. Haiti has broken the rulees and mold in history first emancipating themselves from slavery

Yes I called Obama a failure. His stimulus that was going to keep unemployment under 8% failed. The rate is at 9.5. The health care bill that he said was not a tax, IS a tax. So much for your taxes not going up. Another failure. The financial reform bill does nothing to solve the problem of Freddy and Fannie which was the source of the mortgage meltdown. Failure. SO yes, I called your demi god a failure because that is what his record shows.

I feel for our people in Haiti who are still traumatize not only from the man-made earthquake, but from the colonial raping of the entire land and people.If Wyclef can bring a new life and lift up the spirit of our people over there then I am all for it. As long as he surround himself with great elders that care about the prosperity of our people over there and not succ**b to the pressure from YT then i am all for it.
