@wincie i agree they should alert people when the bill begins to soar high like that. these phone companies know that these are teenagers who are doing this and they know that theses teens are not aware of what their doing and they just keep adding to the bill.

I agree Butterfly. The company will probably end up knocking a lot of this off, but they are making millions off these children Texting, internet, and ringtones. I don’t have children, but no way I’m giving a child a phone with unlimited usage..why not go prepaid?

He should have gotten the boy a prepaid phone. I had my first cell @ 13 and it was prepaid and I had to pay for the minutes myself. When I ran out of minutes I was done until I got the money to pay for more. That’s how you need to do it cause most kids that age don’t understand how much s**t like that costs or just don’t care cause they aren’t paying for it.

The best bet would have been to cut off all internet access that way no data usage. I had a phone that used to go online without doing anything I was being charged 65.00 a month for a bill that was supposed to be about 45.00.I agree I would have gave the boy a prepaid phone.For real I say don’t give him a phone at all.At this point he doesn’t deserve to use another phone.

I mean, there are people in here complaining about not receiving a email or text that they went over there minutes?…that’s laughable. Who does that? Do credit cards do that when you’re charging more than you can afford? People need to take responsibility for themselves, and that should definitely include NOT giving a child the opportunity to run up a 20k MONTHLY bill. I don’t use cell phones for chit chat or nonsense talk. People know, when they call me, it better be important or business related, or the conversation is getting clipped quickly.

first of all this is a lie…..i just found out today that the phone company puts a stop on data after a certain amout has been reached. also why are you showing us the amount due? show us where it saids data and charges? u just showed us what was due….20,000 can mean anything. all the lines activation fees and taxes. this could be a business account. make sure you have your facts straight b/c verizon can come back and sue you.

to wincie this isn’t a lie and i can tell u that first hand after we added my brother to the family plan and he had 2 million kilobytes of data in a month and we received a $13k bill after that. i don’t know y they were charges $20k but it’s not unreasonable considering this is verizon. but verizon did lie because they claimed they didn’t noticed the jump in data usage, or that the media package we had on the family plan was taken off my brother’s phone because of a application he downloaded, until after we called. i still don’t understand how they didn’t noticed it..a bill goin from around $150 for 2 phones to $13k in one month

Lil dude was downloading EVERYTHING!!!! And he probably had a pandora radio application that he had on ALL the time, that’s data usage right there, and he was probably looking at YouTube videos on the phone, that’s data usage also
