Obama To Host African Independence Celebration

From Reuters:

Ontario – President Barack Obama, whose father was Kenyan, will host a 50th anniversary celebration of 18 African nations’ independence in Washington this summer, senior U.S. officials said on Friday.

“It will not just mark the 50th anniversary of independence but will really look forward and invite young leaders from each of those countries to discuss the future as well,” one official said. The event will be held in early August.

    He always meets with blacks here and abroad to plan for the distant future, while other groups get immediate attention and needs met. People talk about how the Republicans are always blocking him from making constructive change, funny how he doesn’t seem to get too much resistance about the needs of Gays and Lesbians and Republicans for the most part are hostile towards gay issues (rightfully so in my opinion). Why is it though the Republicans don’t seem to hinder any of this favorable Gay and Lesbian legislation going through? Could it be, that the gay community don’t play themselves by throwing a vast majority of their support behind Democrats, thus creating some leverage and capital with both parties? All these groups play to win while we play to play. We are just too glad to be invited to the party, and because we are so weak kneed, we sit back and say nothing while everyone is at the punch bowl getting drinks for themselves and their dates.

    Negroes will always be the loser!!!

    Man you drive the nail very straight on the head. So far as the Literate Blacks get their beautiful designer clothes and shoes from Mikes, or Armandas, the party can get on with the drinks “Made in Elsewhere”. Just imagine why do we have to discuss about the future of Afrika in America?.
    Even now in Canada OTHERSS have to rally for the poors while WE in Africa suffer the most! ! ! . . .
