@Carolina, I really don’t want to get this started with you again, but I have to say, you have to learn to make a distinction between that what you call hate and constructive criticism. I also saw how ALL Presidents seem to leave office with ridiculously low approval numbers after having great numbers when they were elected.

The article goes on to state that a drawdown of troops will have levels down to 94k at the end of this month. This drawdown has been going on for months. Now he has clearly stated that 50k-65k troops will remain until the end of 2011. What does that mean to you? ANything? Anything at all? That’s not even counting the amount of Defense contractors that are there, that are effectively soldiers. Their paid by the Govt and those contractors won’t hire you unless you are PRIOR Special Forces. Come on, use a little common sense!

Wall Street Reform. You realize that all those things listed are the PROPOSALS. The new Consumer Protection Financial Bureau doesn’t even have a chief yet. But get this, there are two people who would be great advocates for the consumer. Elizabeth Warren and William Black. The former now chairs the COngressional Oversight Panel for TARP funds. She has put Wall street crooks feet to the fire. So guess who is now trying to BLOCK her appointment? Timothy Geithner and Chris Dodd. These two want to appoint one of their goldman sachs buddies to head up the Bureau. Inside baseball.

Healthcare Reform. The biggest issue with healthcare was the healthcare providers. The system worked against us, because these companies have very little competition since you can’t go outside of state lines. This effectively creates a monopoly or in some cases a cabal. Guess who stands to make Billions now that BHO has FORCED everyone to purchase healthcare or pay a fine? Is that even constitutional?

i didnt stand in line in november for a silver bullet candidate. i didnt think obama was some “golden child prophecy”. i didnt think that far in the future, i just didnt like the direction the country was moving in. many americans agreed with me as well. the slogan was “yes WE can” not “yes HE can”.

but i like what has transpired through this administrations scrutiny in that we are debating issues that NEEDED to be adressed. the difference is crystal clear…we can either ATTEMPT to tackle the problems of middle class america, or throw up our hands in frustration. im the first to say the democratic party has its problems with testicular fortitude, but i cant trust my vote with a party that thinks global warming is a myth, off shore drilling is enviromentally safe, that we can WIN in afghan OR iraq, or that the universe will end as we know it, if isreal doesnt get tax payer aid every year.

yes, there are MINOR issues i have with the health care reform bill. i feel harry reid played us on the public option. but there are MAJOR parts of the bill that i agree with. i like the expansion of medicaid, i wont have to pay these colossal premiums for these cheap ass indiana health care plans. so we DID get an EXPANSION of the public option we already have. i work in a hospital so i pass the over crowded er rooms, and see the 4 or 5 hour waits, just to SEE a nurse. i personally know working class people who have went bankrupt from mrsa, cancer, etc. NOT everyone will have 2 PAY for insurance, those who are substancially under the poverty line will STILL get medicaid. not perfect, but effective.

the wall street bill is a lil different. but whenever chris dodd dislikes something, it means the people will benefit from it. congress will approve elizabeth warren and consumers WILL have a new found voice, i only wish the companies were FORCED to refund a consumers money instead of a fine. not perfect but effective.

lastly we have the war in iraq. this isnt a situation where u pack up ur 42 inch hd joint, box springs, and x box and call uhaul. its going to take time, not only because of all the equipment on the ground, but to insure the safety of those who will evacuate and more importantly, those who will remain.

no one here is saying obama is jesus christ reincarnated, but we are willing to give him more time and support to CHANGE the trajectory of domestic and foreign policy legislation by attacking the PROBLEMS instead of IGORING them and passing them on to the next administration.

On the real, can you actually prove global warming is real????? You have seen facts that removes all doubt from your mind? I doubt that, but you just accept this junk science as factual. Ok, I won’t really argue that point because honestly, i have no idea, but I do know, I don’t believe it for a second. What party feels we can win in Afghanistan or Iraq? seems like the current one since the troop levels are being increased in Afghan, and mark my word, BHO will be the face of an Iran invasion here within 365 days.

If you truly have faith in this legislation that many economists say are more detrimental to the avg American by way of increased deficits, (many of whom are BHO supporters) then so be it, but programs like Medicaid/medicare and Social Security are more burdensome expenditures at this point, but difficult if not impossible to unwind. The fact is BHO is not the cause of these problems (not sure how much clearer that can be made) but these things are so tightly wound, that his “legislation” in an attempt to fix it is useless. America crossed the point of no return years ago, dare I say decades!

Oh, please let us know when those wait times in the ER get slashed by 50% or so….I won’t hold my breath. I’m not sure, but does this bill even claim to solve that problem?

Pretty clear to me most here who have commented have failed to read the entire article. Basically it says that BHO ran on the “transformation” ticket but so far has failed to deliver. So far his presidency is eerily similar to that of one Jimmy Carter; who ran on a similar promise and also failed to deliver.

My observation is that most blacks(like jayevans and carolinagirl) cannot be objective when it comes to criticizing other blacks. BHO has an 85% approval rating in DC but a 42-44% approval rating nationwide. Huge discrepancy.

He is failing on a multitude of levels. It’s clear, but blacks fail to see this; making loyalty a vice.

Not sure where we go from here. IMO, BHO will be a one term president, for a multiple of reasons. I see the need to support other blacks but not unconditionally; which carolina and jay cannot grasp.
