A boy and a 15-year-old girl were injured Friday afternoon on Lake Lanier when they were run over by a man on a personal watercraft, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources previously told the AJC. Both victims were flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, with the boy’s injuries being much more serious.

The DNR declined Saturday to release the names of those involved in the collision. But an Atlanta television station, citing unnamed sources, identified the boy as Kile Glover.

Both 11Alive and the entertainment website TMZ identified the boy as the son of Usher’s ex-wife. Efforts to reach the family were unsuccessful late Saturday.

The DNR has said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident, which happened near Holiday Marina. Despite not releasing the names of those involved, the DNR said Friday the [38-year-old] man on the personal watercraft and the children tubing were part of the same group on an outing at the lake.

DNR rangers at the lake pulled the teenage girl from the water Friday afternoon, Sgt. Mike Bergamy said. Good Samaritans in a nearby boat pulled the boy from the water, Bergamy said.

Foster Raymond prides herself on being a hands-on mother and recently spoke about her children, Darrin, 21, Ryan, 13, Kile, 11, Usher V, 4, and Naviyd Ely, 3 in an exclusive interview with TheGrio.com:

“My kids take precedence over business; however, I do business for my kids. I want them to know that their mom works and she’s independent. I have to leave a legacy for my sons, so that eventually when I go on to glory,” Raymond said, “they have the savvy to keep it going. I definitely want to birth an entrepreneurial spirit within them. I don’t believe in silver-spoon children and you will not see my boys hanging on a beach all day, posing for paparazzi.”

Various media outlets are reporting that Usher chartered a private plane for his ex-wife, who he is currently in a highly publicized custody battle with, so that she could be by Kile’s side as soon as possible.

This is the second serious accident on Lake Lanier in the past two weeks. Brothers Jake Prince, 9, and Griffin Prince , 13, were killed

after Paul J. Bennett, 44, slammed into their boat. Jake died at the scene; Griffin was thrown from the boat and his body was found 10 days later. Bennett was arrested for boating under the influence, reports CBS Atlanta.

Some of Usher’s and Tameka’s mutual friends have taken to Twitter to express their support:

Fantasia tweeted, “Everyone please pray for Usher and Tameka’s son! This is the time they really need your prayers.”

Russell Simmons tweeted, “praying Usher and Tameka’s son is ok…”

Tameka expresses the bond she shares with all of her sons on Twitter frequently, Kile in particular:

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tameka’s family during this indescribably difficult time.
