Barack Obama quotes and sayings are all over the Internet. While President Obama is generally well spoken and considered by many to be one of the great orators of our time, he’s hardly immune to the occasional gaff or embarrassing slip-up. Obama’s quotes are enlightening, as you can tell a lot about a person by their choice of words, so as the November 2012 election approaches, and Obama gets ready to battle Republican nominee Mitt Romney for the highest office in the land, we pulled together 10 of Obama’s most famous quotes—the good, the bad, and the just plain silly.
“I’ve now been in 57 states—I think one left to go.”
Obama must have been pretty tired when he said this in May 2008—that, or he missed a few days of geography class.
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
This is precisely why some people love the guy. You could almost set these lines to music.

It’s a good thing the members of congress don’t have access to musical instruments. Can you imagine the god-awful racket?

Yep, he really said while being hounded by reporters during breakfast. A man’s time with his waffle is sacred.

With these words, liberals everywhere rejoiced and conservatives felt their blood pressure quadruple. Good thing they now have access to better care. Zing!

It sounds great, but is it true?

George W. Bush might have said the same thing after seeing all the protestors at his inaugural parade…

Obama was talking about his troubles connecting with small-town voters, and even if he sort of had a point, this wasn’t going to make things better…
”The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”
Obviously, he meant efficiencies, but the Republicans had a field day with this one. You really can’t blame ‘em.
“We lose ourselves when we compromise the very ideals that we fight to defend. And we honor those ideals by upholding them not when it’s easy, but when it is hard.”
Another one of those statements folks on both sides of the aisle can agree on. Too bad there aren’t more sentiments like this bandied about in American politics.
