According superstar diva Mariah Carey, the “altercation” between she and Nicki Minaj on the set of “American Idol” could have turned violent if Minaj had been carrying a gun.

Calling in to ‘The View’ to speak with her friend Barbara Walters, Mimi claims that Minaj said of her, “if [I] had a gun, [I] would shoot the bi*ch.”

Producers met with judges Wednesday to discuss the issue. Reportedly, Minaj told Carey, “I love you but we might fight again. Carey responded, “No, we will not,” Walters said.

Nicki quickly took it to the streets — well, Twitter– to put “her highness” and Walters in her place.

Well, tell us how you really feel, Nicki. As previously reported by NewsOne, after the initial showdown, auditions were canceled for the day to give the two time to calm down.

Allegedly, execs are concerned about the chemistry of the two stars for the course of the show, but Ryan Seacrestsays there is nothing to be concerned about:

“Nicki and Mariah, two very different, strong, powerful successful women on the panel — there are not too many dull moments between the two of them,” he told NBC’s Today on Sept. 18. “But at the end of the day, we all hug and laugh and go home and get ready for another day.

“They get along fine, but they’re strong and candid in their opinion.”

The two divas are new to the judges’ table this year, replacing Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez and joining ‘Idol’ veteran Randy Jackson.

We’ll just have to see how long this lasts.
