Detroit police say at least seven teenagers have been shot near a high school but their conditions aren’t known.

Detroit Police spokesman Rod Liggons tells WXYZ-TV the victims were shot Tuesday afternoon at a bus stop by gunmen who emerged from a green minivan. Liggons says he isn’t aware of any fatalities.

Detroit Public Schools spokesman Steve Wasko says the shooting took place about a block away from Cody High School shortly after summer school classes got out. He didn’t know if any of the teens shot are students at the school.

The shootings took place about a mile south of Cody High School. There are reports that a fight may have broken out 15 minutes after the Cody 9th Grade Summer School program let out. Video from Chopper 7 shows crime tape up near a Shell Gas Station across from a bus stop.

In a breaking news interview with Channel 7, Detroit Police spokesman Rod Liggons reported that two masked men approached a crowd in a green mini-van, got out of the vehicle, exchanged words, then opened fire on the crowd. After the shooting, the suspects got back into the mini-van and took off.
