On Tuesday, ambulances and police were seen riding up and down Benjamin-Hodo’s street. Eventually, a close family member confirmed her untimely passing.

She founded Camp Starlight, which had been rated the “best affordable summer camp” in Clayton County.  The summer camp program, which offers academics, creativity, and fun as well as weekly trips for ages 5 to 16, operated through the New Morning Light Baptist Church in Conley, Ga., where her husband Pastor Robert Hodo preaches.  Andre’s biological father, Lawrence Walker, is a collection’s agent.

Since the news broke that Benjamin-Hodo passed away, Andre has been reportedly deluged with condolences via his Twitter account from his fans and celebrities, such as music exec Jermaine Dupri, entrepreneur Russell Simmons, and baller Dash Harris.

In lieu of flowers, continued support of Camp Starlight is appreciated by the family, according to the Andre’s spokesperson.
