Bravo’s hit reality show the ”Real Housewives Of Atlanta” is hot this season and the arrest of Phaedra Park‘s husband Apollo Nida has added even more excitement into the mix.
Nida was allegedly arrested and charged with bank fraud and identity theft for “creating fake companies which enabled him to access databases to find individuals to rip off,” states a report by the Secret Service’s Counterfeit and U.S. Treasury Check Squad, according to Access Atlanta.
The document that was obtained by the news site goes on to state: “He opened fake bank accounts under those real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts.”
Nida was named by an alleged co-conspirator, Gayla St. Julien, who was arrested last September with $3 million in multiple bank accounts tied to her.
St. Julien, who has described herself as Nida’s “right hand b*tch,” allegedly helped to facilitate the operation. The woman also revealed to a case investigator that she was making mere beans compared to what Nida was pulling in from the operation.
Access Atlanta reports that Nida would allegedly steal identities, and then have St. Julien pose as the theft victims. The woman would then go and open bank accounts using the stolen identities. The report then went on to state:
“She would then deposit fraudulent auto loan checks, stolen U.S. Treasury checks, stolen retirement checks issued to Delta Airlines employees, and checks in the names of real people, who were owed unclaimed property from various state and federal government agencies.”
Nida also reportedly opened a fake auto dealership and applied for loans using the stolen identities.
Ironically, Nida who has an extensive rap sheet, was imprisoned over a five-year period from 2004 to 2009 for auto title fraud.
Nida is out on a $25,000 bond and will be arraigned on February 12.
The question remains however, did Parks know anything about her husband’s alleged dealings? The plot thickens, stay tuned!
