Although the unemployment rate for African-American men has dropped, there still remains a major disparity between other racial groups. The jobless rate for Black men in this country is twice as high as those of Whites, Asians, and Hispanics. Despite the unemployment rate for African-American men remaining in double digits, there has been some progress for them in the workforce. According to a recent report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for Black men dropped from 11.2 percent to 11.0 percent in December 2014, and the rate of African-American men participating in the labor force is on the rise: it increased from 66.9 percent in November to 67.8 percent in December. African Americans Disproportionately Affected By Homicide in L.A.

A new study shows that African Americans are disproportionately affected by homicide in Los Angeles. Although Blacks make up 9.8 percent of the city’s population, they account for 43.1 percent of homicide victims. Last year in L.A., 112 victims of 260 homicides recorded were African American, 62 percent of the murders were gang-related, and 86 percent of all victims were male. Even though African Americans and Latinos are affected the most by homicide within their local communities, the overall rate in Los Angeles has declined. In 1994, homicide in L.A. reached its peak with 853 incidents reported. The rate has significantly decreased over the past 10 years. Read more.


Tyrese, Rev. Run Have Talk Show in Works

After teaming up to write the New York Times bestseller “Manology: Secrets of Your Man’s Mind Revealed,” Tyrese and Rev. Run are reportedly joining forces again to do a talk show related to the book. Rev. Run recently took to Instagram to share details about the new project, “Ok so here’s the scoop .. Theres A new talk show coming! .. But not your average … It’s 1 single man and 1 dedicated married man .. 2 different perspectives … This is going to be very very very very interesting to say the least ..2 perspectives.. –> One single man ..
