India Heat Wave Claims the Lives of Over 1,100
The heat wave in India has claimed the lives of over 1,100 people in under a week. According to reports, 852 people have died in Andhra Pradesh, 266 people have passed away in Telangana, and 24 people have lost their lives in West Bengal and Orissa. “Almost all the victims are old,” B.R. Meena, principle secretary for revenue for Telangana, said in a statement. “Inquiries reveal that most of them were working and were exposed to the heat.
