Students at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina staged a walk-out in support of fired Deputy Ben Fields who assaulted and arrested a student for allegedly refusing to leave the classroom, reports WACH Fox.
Fields was fired on Wednesday, even though Sheriff Leon Lott placed “some” blame on the girl’s shoulders and claimed that racism didn’t play a role in the incident because Fields has been dating an African American women “for quite some time.”
Apparently, some students — and Principal Jeff Temoney, who has been identified as the administrator in the video who stepped back as Fields flung the girl across the room –agree with him.
