In this day and age it’s essential to be mindful of what you post on social media. A Cleveland Cavalier’s fan is learning that the hard way. On Wednesday, the Twitter user @SoftCaramelKiss sent a homophobic tweet to Sydel Curry, NBA star Steph Curry’s sister. “You and your whole family get the f*** out of Cleveland, and take Riley’s fa**** a** with you,” read the tweet. Sydel swiftly responded with a string of tweets. “We’ll be gone Friday! Bless up,” she posted. “@SoftCaramelKiss let’s have a conversation real quick! You’re taking about my THREE YEAR OLD NIECE! I don’t take that.” Although the user deleted his tweet, another Twitter user notified his employer, Holton-Wise Property Group, and he was fired. James Wise, the CEO of Holton-Wise, released a statement and took to Twitter to apologize to the Curry family. “Apology for the #Cavs fan who was fired for harassing @sydelcurry & @itsRileyCurry @warriorsworld @BroBible,” he posted. Joe Biden Pens Letter To Stanford University Sexual Assault Victim

The Stanford University sexual assault scandal has put the focus on sexual harassment that occurs on college campuses across the country. Last week Brock Turner, a 20-year-old who was a former member of the university’s swim team, was sentenced to six months behind bars after being accused of sexually assaulting another student. Following his sentencing, his victim penned a heart-wrenching letter, which caught the attention of Vice President Joe Biden. Biden took it upon himself to write a letter back to the victim. “I do not know your name – but your words are forever seared on my soul. Words that should be required reading for men and women of all ages,” wrote Biden. “I am in awe of your courage for speaking out – for so clearly naming the wrongs that were done to you and so passionately asserting your equal claim to human dignity. And I am filled with furious anger. Both that this happened to you and that our culture is still so broken that you were ever put in the position of defending your own worth.” A Change.org petition was recently launched by the Stanford Association of Students for Sexual Assault Prevention to show support for the victim. It has garnered nearly 90,000 signatures. Read more.
