Lawrence Taylor is expected to be present Thursday when prosecutors meet with attorneys for the former New York Giant as part of the process in the criminal case he faces. Taylor was charged with several counts, including statutory rape, after being arrested in a hotel in Suffern, N.Y., on May 6.

It was not immediately clear why the parties were appearing in court.

Prosecutors allege he hired an underage girl to have sex with him. Taylor pleaded not guilty and his attorney, Arthur Aidala, has stated that they will fight the charges. Aidala has said the case is on track to go to trial in the spring.

The hearing is taking place at the Rockland County Courthouse in the county where the arrest was made.
