The GOP’s “Hip Hop Makeover” seems to have taken a mocking tone. At a recent GOP event, Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann praised Michael Steele by saying, “Michael Steele! You be da man! You be da man.”

My personal opinion is that Michelle Bachmann’s statement to a black man using stereotyical black language and bad grammar is offensive. Would she have told a white politician “You be da man.”

During the election Bachmann called for investigating members of Congress to find out who is “Anti-America.”

Michael Steele also had another questionable encounter when radio host Curtis Sliwa referred to Louisiana Governor, Booby Jindall as Slumdog Millionaire.

From Politico

SLIWA: Now, using a little bit of that street terminology, are you giving him any Slum love, Michael?

STEELE: (laughter)

SLIWA: Because he is — when guys look at him and young women look at him — they say oh, that’s the slumdog millionaire, governor. So, give me some slum love.
