NEW YORK — In this NewsOne video exclusive, reporter Stacey Samuel explores the impact of Obama’s first foray onto the 2012 campaign trail.
A recent Gallup poll conducted earlier this week showed that Black support for President Obama has dropped slightly from his election day percentage of 92 to a present day 85 percent.
With Black educators, journalists, and pundits criticizing Obama for the lack of a “Black Agenda,” and his fall from grace with many white voters, Obama needs to shore up his Black voter base to have any chance at re-election in 2012.
Last week, Obama took the first step towards that goal by speaking at Rev. Al Sharpton’s 2011 National Action Network convention.
