In an effort to expand diversity in their programming, one of the nation’s leading media companies, Cablevision, will now offer its subscribers TV One*  — an entertainment cable channel offering programming aimed at Black adults.

Launched in 2004, TV One’s stated aims are to “entertain, inform and inspire” the 54 million African American households it currently reaches.

TV One executive Michelle Rice stated:

“We are excited that Cablevision’s customers will now have access to TV One,” Rice said. “We thank Cablevision for its commitment to add more diverse programming to its product offerings by launching TV One. The network offers a wide array of compelling programming targeted to the African American adult audience that all Cablevision customers will enjoy.”

TV One’s original programming also includes TV One on One with Cathy Hughes, and the Sunday morning public affairs series Washington Watch with Roland Martin.

Cablevision customers can find TV One on channel 178 in their iO Package, which offers subscribers over 500 channels. A digital set-top box or CableCARD is required to receive TV One.
