The most dangerous dog, as the saying goes, is the one backed into a corner. With the Republican campaign in obvious disarray, and the electoral map growing bluer by the day (perhaps because Americans have reverted to toddler-tantrums and are now holding their breath until they get their way), Sarah Palin’s Pit Bulls are cornered. Colin Powell will have a role as a top presidential adviser in an Obama administration, the Democratic White House hopeful said Monday.

On Sunday morning’s Meet the Press, Colin Powell formally endorsed Barack Obama for President. The announcement comes as a potential “October surprise” that favors the Democratic nominee because of the five-star general’s established trust with veterans and older voters. Powell was genuinely disappointed by the Bush administration’s deceptive practice in searching for weapons of mass […]

Last night, the real Governor Sarah Palin braved a live appearance on Saturday Night Live.  Standing with SNL chief Lorne Michaels, Palin endured a skit with Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin who said “you’re way hotter in person!”  The real Palin then walked passed Tina Fey who was in full impersonation mode.  See video.

America’s health care crisis is, of course, a central concern for voters. And it’s come up in several of the debates. Space constraints preclude an in-depth dissection of Obama and McCain’s competing ideas (you can read good analyses here and here). Ta-Nehisi Coates commented […]

The Supreme Court sided Friday with Ohio’s top elections official in a dispute with the state Republican Party over voter registrations. The justices overruled a federal appeals court that had ordered Ohio’s top elections official to do more to help counties verify voter eligibility.

Jay-Z has continued his transformation into a respectable citizen and icon and continued his support for Barack Obama. He recently shot a PSA informing voters in Michigan of their rights and the process of voting if you don’t have an ID. Watch the Video After the Jump

Last night on the Dave Letterman show, McCain was asked about his ‘criminal affiliations.’ The person he was referring to was G Gordon Liddy. Liddy was a staff aid for Nixon and was one of the central figures in the Watergate scandal.

Yesterday, Barack Obama and John Mccain appeared at the Waldorf Astoria for the Alfred E. Smith benefit dinner. Both men had some pretty funny lines. McCain had a couple jokes for Hillary Clinton and Keith Olbermann and Obama has some funny jokes about Rudy Giulani. Watch the Video After the Jump
