Flint Water Crisis

Inmates and staff at two Michigan prisons -- the Pugsley Correctional Facility and the Oaks Correctional Facility -- were able to gather nearly 30,000 bottles of water during a 30 day contest to see who could collect the most for students dealing with the ongoing water crisis in Flint.

Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has been criticized by state and local officials for his response to the Flint Water Crisis, which prompted his office to assemble an investigative panel. In a report released by the panel, it found that the state is wholly responsible for the contamination of Flint's drinking water, Think Progress reports.

In response to Earley's remarks, resident LeeAnne Walters told Martin, "A lot of it was lies and him just trying to cover himself."

"Governor Rick Snyder cannot actually fix this problem," said Martin. He later added, "What this governor is doing is running from the problem."

Earley, joined by his lawyer, Attorney A. Scott Bolden, explained that the decision to switch Flint's water supply to the Flint River and use services from the KWA Water Authority was made by the Flint City Council.
