The Department of Justice released a scathing report in January that found a pattern of Chicago officers who operate outside of the law.

The three cops are charged with conspiring to cover up alleged wrongdoing by Officer Jason Van Dyke in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.

The ex-Chicago police detective who shot and killed 22-year-old innocent bystander Rekia Boyd, is seeking to collect disability pay from the city because he says he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder from the 2012 shooting. Dante Servin, 48, could collect as much as $78,000 or 75 percent of his former $104,000 salary until his police pension kicks in.

More than 100 gathered on Thursday for an evening vigil outside the Chicago Police Department with renewed calls to terminate all of the officers involved.

The violence reached a fever pitch on Labor Day, when 31 people were shot between 6 a.m. on Monday and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
