Roland Martin and ‪‎NewsOne Now‬ were on hand for the NAACP‬ ‎Image Awards‬ red carpet event and caught up with Anthony Anderson, Michael B. Jordan, Ice Cube, Tracee Ellis Ross, Lee Daniels and more.

The NAACP Image Awards will air live this Friday at 9/8c on TV One and all this week on NewsOne Now, an expert panel will share our predictions on who will take home the trophies.

Monday night's event highlighted historic speeches by civil rights heroes like MLK, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Sojourner Truth, and Shirley Chisholm, recited by Lin Miranda-Manuel, Andre Holland, Michael B. Jordan, Octavia Spencer, and civil rights icon Harry Belafonte.
