AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron will host its fourth annual Black Male Summit to “bring awareness to critical issues in higher education for young Black men.”

The summit will highlight challenges and discuss solutions to promote academic achievement in the Black community.

Held during the weekend of April 8th, the even will feature speakers like Tim King, founder and CEO of Urban Prep Academies, Dr. Joseph White, professor of psychiatry at the University of California, who will speak about “Challenges Facing African-American Males”; and Eric Troy, marketing expert, who will speak about the future of promotions for Black men.
