A Queens, New York landlord is dead after he used a machete to kill one of his tenants and himself this past Tuesday.

Hettie Patterson, 48, was found dead in her backyard by a neighbor with a severe wound to the head. According to police reports, Eulith “Sonny” Reid, 62,  killed Patterson while trying to force her out of her apartment so his children could move in.

Patterson was found barricaded in his apartment with self-inflicted machete wounds.

A neighbor commented to The Daily News in disbelief, “He never seemed like anyone that would do something like this. Something just snapped.”
