An African American waitress in Towson, Maryland is claiming that her boss ordered her to serve only Black customers who entered their Applebees location.

The waitress, 27-year-old Courtney Haywood, filed a discrimination lawsuit after being fired earlier this year.

She started working at the Applebees location in 2007, and when new management took over earlier this year, that’s when the problems began.

According to the thetowerlight.com , Haywood said “I talked to a manager, who kept saying, ‘I will take care of it, don’t worry about it.’ And nothing was taken care of.”

After filing several complaints with the company, Haywood said she was given a termination letter in October 2011.

Haywood has filed a complaint of racial discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
