Lucille SingletonTo celebrate Black History Month, NewsOne is proud to honor Game Changers, everyday people that make a difference.

With each amazing story, we aim to shine the spotlight on extraordinary citizens that deserve more than just a mention within their own communities — people like La’Shanda Holmes, Maria Davis, and Maya Rupert. (Pictures of them can be found in the gallery below.)

In the spirit of these Game Changers, we want you to submit stories about people you know who are making a difference in your community.

These local heroes can be family, friends, a member of your church, a mentor, or just anyone that embodies what we celebrate during Black History Month. Submit your story with a photo or video in the gallery below and vote on stories that inspire you. The story with the most votes will become the subject of a full-length feature story to be highlighted prominently on NewsOne.
