George ZimmermanJoe Oliver, the only black friend of George Zimmerman who is willing to show his face on camera, told Chris Mathews of “Hardball” that “coon” is not a racial slur, Think Progress reports.

“…To me, it’s a matter of interpretation whether he’s saying coon or goon. There are parts of this country where people proudly call themselves “coon a***s” in Louisiana in particular…”

So, in an effort to help clarify Zimmerman’s 911 phone call where he seems to refer to Trayvon Martin as a “f**kin’ coon” before shooting him dead, Oliver argues that the word, perhaps, is not racial insensitive? Does Oliver and Zimmerman’s supporters actually think we are that stupid to accept such as asinine defense?

Surely, the people of Louisiana do not appreciate Oliver’s mischaracterization of their state’s social lingo. Oh, in case anyone needs clarification of what coon means, please go to Websters’ online dictionary where it clearly states that coon is “usually offensive.”

Try again, Mr. Oliver!
