Another show that gives ignorance a platform and exploits women can only mean one thing.

It’s boycotting season.

RELATED: SMDH! Rapper Shawty Lo And His 10 Baby Mamas To Star In Oxygen Reality Show

As “Basketball Wives, Miami” and “Love & Hip-Hop, ATL”  before it, the new Oxygen series, “All My Babies’ Mamas” featuring self-proclaimed Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo, has garnered an avalanche of criticism, subsequently giving it more publicity than it could have ever purchased.

But, as with it’s predecessors, this latest boycott brought to us by Sabrina Lamb on Change.org, is not without honorable intentions. Just as this bottom of the barrel entertainment has the right to be made for those viewers who had no idea that ratchet was a real word before Lil’ Boosie mangled it, conscientious, community advocates should also let their voices be heard — and they have.

Read a portion of the petition below:

Our Children…our Community… Deserves Better.

Ban This Poison.

Ban This Television Show.

Oxygen Television Network is prepared to broadcast a one hour special celebrating the dysfunction of rapper Shawty Lo…aka the insulting title “My Babies’ Mommas” witnessed by his 11 children…by 10 different women…(some may have been underage) as they….argue, beg, fight for emotional, financial support and sexual reward.

What is the difference between this ministrel show and the others which clog the airwaves without proper balance of the beauty and positive aspects of our community??

The children.

The children are front and center. Pining and witnessing their parents’ behavior. And it is their children who will hold all of us accountable by allowing them to be exploited internationally in this manner.

What You Can Do?

At press time, the petition had approximately 1,500 signatures.

As previously reported by NewsOne:

Each baby mama has an eye-catching title such as the ‘First Lady E’Creia,’ who handles Lo’s finances and who was actually engaged to him at one point after he already had three children. Then there’s Angela, the “Fighter Baby Mama,” Amanda, the “Jealous Baby Mama,” Sujuan, the “Wanna-be Bougie Baby Mama” and Tamara, the “No-Drama Baby Mama.”

Lo, 36, also has a 19-year-old girlfriend, Ashlin, who is also featured on the show and who claims to be madly in love with him. The clueless young woman met Lo when he already had 10 children and is actually a year younger than his oldest child.

This show is such a clustermuck of stereotypes that it would take a semester of sociology to wade through it all.

If we could just figure out how to get positive programming to go viral and get this much publicity, we might be on to something.
