Beloved gentle giant actor Michael Clarke Duncan (pictured left), who passed away more than a year ago, is reportedly still lying in an unmarked gravesite as his family battles over the site’s inscription. Duncan’s fiancée and TV reality show villainess Omarosa Manigault (pictured), reportedly had to finally step in to firmly make a decision about what to place on the plaque, and Duncan’s family is reportedly none too pleased, reports TMZ.
Duncan, who died in September 2012 after cardiac arrest, was laid to rest in a vault at the famed Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles. Even though a bronze plaque has already been paid for, Duncan’s family could not agree on what its inscription should read. TMZ claims that Omarosa told them she wanted Duncan’s name, birth, and death dates placed on the plaque, but his family reportedly did not agree with her wishes and kept her from making any moves.
Sources from Duncan’s camp, though, claim that the opposite is actually true: Omarosa allegedly identified herself as Duncan’s wife on the burial documents and promised to order the inscription but never did.
So now there appears to be a stand-off, and neither side wants to speak to the other about the issue.
The worst thing about the feud is that Duncan’s mother is ill, and at 95, she would like to see her son’s gravesite properly identified.
After Duncan’s death, his family members and Omarosa battled over his assets. The Duncan family members believed that Omarosa persuaded the actor in rewriting his will and leaving all his possessions to her, with Duncan’s sister, Judy, even reportedly hiring an attorney to have Omarosa investigated.
Last April, Judy said that her brother had been ill for quite a while before his death and was not in his right mind. According to Judy, Duncan had been slurring his words and stumbling around for months before he actually suffered a heart attack. Judy claimed that Omarosa was hellbent on securing her brother’s possessions and money even while he was lying in intensive care on life support. Judy also alleged that Omarosa sold many of Duncan’s pricey possessions without his family’s knowledge.
And so the battle between Omarosa and the Duncans ensues!
