Successful producer, and ex-wife of singer Babyface, Tracey Edmonds says that while she likes ABC’s “Scandal,” one diverse show on a major network isn’t sufficient black programming in and of itself.

In an exclusive interview with Roland Martin, Edmonds said, “We’re all happy and we’re grateful that we see shows like ‘Scandal’ with an African-American lead, but we know that African-American lead has to be surrounded by white actors and actresses to get it done.”

Edmonds says, in the meantime, media executives like herself and others are focusing on cable networks and digital platforms for provide black audiences with content.
