Second, it’s ridiculous to blame Blacks for this behavior because, trust me, TONS of teachers and coaches hear Black kids using the term amongst each other in a jocular way yet they themselves don’t use the term.

Last, it’s not healthy for older white men to be surrounded by Black men and boys because white men can’t handle being in a racially intense environment. A lot of white teachers teach in the inner city, predominately Black schools because they can’t find jobs anywhere else. They teach to make the money and then resent the kids for it. In this case, this man is coaching but it’s likely that he’s not fulfilled as an educator and is one of those people who hates getting up everyday.

Regardless of what happens from here, he’s got the scarlet letter so it’s going to be tough for him to stay there. I’d be willing to bet the farm that he’s in over his head financially, hates human beings in general, despises Blacks, and just wants to blow up the world!

My thoughts are don’t play until the issue with the coach is resolved. Yes, I know that the team is having a winning season but is it really worth sending a message that a win is more important than self-respect. Personally, I will not tolerate any disrespect regardless of what’s at stake. I wouldn’t let a manager on the job refer to me as “this one” or “mines” because no one owns me.

Wow, I am an African-American female, and I went to HS in Richmond Heights, and I had Coach Popp for phys ed and health, and he was a very nice guy. I never had any problems with him, nor did anyone that I know of have any problems with him either. I graduated 10 years ago, but my brother still attends school there, and he has NEVER had any problems with Coach Popp as a teacher or as a coach. I wasn’t there, so I cannot say what did or did not happen, but what I can say is that Coach Popp is a really nice, fair, and fun guy, and I believe that there is much more to this story that is NOT being told!!
