While all this is somewhat interesting, I think it hardly has much importance today, especially given whats known. Ron Paul’s behavior completely contradicts any of these bad claims; he even treated poor minorities for free. If there is one thing about Ron Paul you can count on, its his consistancy of the past 25-30 years(the time he has been in office, etc).
If the worst people can come up with on him is news letters that he didnt write, and that he may or may not have known about some plot 30 years ago, I would say thats far and beyond an improvement to what we usually have to put up with when it comes to those seeking to be elected.

First of all, his newsletters stopped being published in 1998, perhaps 1999. I’m not certain.

This story first broke in 1995 by the New Republic newspaper when he was running for congress in Texas.

George W. Bush was a horrific president, Obama is too. Not really. His solution was to end subsidizing illegal immigrants with free social services and opening up immigration to allow more people in legally in a way that makes the most sense. He would want to strengthen policing the borders, but that’s actually something the Federal Govt is supposed to do. But there WERE abolitionists in the Confederate Army. Even General Lee was an abolitionist who thought it was extremely sinful, yet he still fought for the pro-slavery South because he saw the war as about something else. That’s what Dr. Paul is talking about. Wrong or right, they saw their fight against what they saw as Federal overreaching. But I do think Dr. Paul’s argument that slavery could’ve been ended without war, like in England and much of Europe, is a bit unrealistic. Even if you compensated slave-owners for their expense in buying human beings (to make up for enforcing a law ex-post-facto and freeing people who were once legally property, which the slave-owners paid for), I think the Southerners wouldn’t have agreed because slave labor made them too much money. Yes, the Confederate flag is offensive, because it’s insensitive to Black Americans and also because its the REBEL flag, which is unpatriotic. But that doesn’t make Dr. Paul a racist. Why would a racist make the argument that there were abolitionists in the Confederate Army? It’s obviously a sensitive subject, but that’s no excuse for not being fair.

I have read a lot of articles on Newsone, but this one just doesn’t make sense. There is a lot of missing information and conclusions are jumped too. Its easy to lead someone on and its even easier when they are a politician. Politicians are the most disliked group in our country BUT that doesn’t mean that they aren’t legit. I ran across information about Ron Paul’s racist ties when I visited his website about a year ago looking for information about the Prison Industrial Complex. I could not believe the supremacist pages that were connected to this site. For someone who’s running for president, he’s not really come forward to squash these accusations these accusations about his neo-fascist ties, not even to his black supporters who this should concern. He has not even returned the monies that he receives from these racist group, not to mention him being photographed with many of them. He says that its a coincidence, but I feel that there are too too many coincidences associated with this man. I strongly feel that he doesn’t want to insult his racist cronies by denouncing them or returning their money. There are some blacks and other people of color who support this man. A man whose website once stated the only 5% of blacks have any political knowledge at all! For years his website posted all kinds of race-baiting articles that his only excuse was that he was out delivering babies and didn’t pay much attention to the site. Yes, it is reported that he did deliver many babies for poor black families in his district; the same black families that voted him into a seat that had been traditionally Democratic. There are some who are very influential in the entertainment business that includes some famous hip hop artists. These folks didn’t do their homework on this old dude. As for what Ron Paul can do without Congress… He can exercise his role as commander and chief and end the wars that Obama was supposed to end himself but kept on with the Bush doctrine of not asking Congress for approval for war. He is also at the moment making strong gestures towards war with Iran and Syria. Again this is just pushing the same agenda that Bush and the Republicans had.

He can cut unconstitutional agencies from the federal government and can appoint real constitutionalists to head the other agencies.

He can cut 1 Trillion dollars from spending, because ultimately we are broke and our economy is going down the tube. It doesn’t help that Obama keeps asking to extend the debt limit and as a true Keynesian believes we can solve a debt problem with more debt.

He could put untold pressure on the congress and senate to further audit the federal reserve and find out why they were loaning TRILLIONS in secret loans to foreign banks along with bailing out The Fed’s, Obama’s, Bush’s and Romney’s friends on Wall St.

He would balance our budget by his 3rd year in office. If you don’t believe that we are facing an economic problem far worse than the Great Depression then I would advise you to actually get online and do some research and just listen to what people like the IMF, World Bank and ECB are telling us. It took fifteen years of failed votes to get it to pass. When it did pass it was only because both the House and the Senate were controlled by the Republicans. Some wanted a commemorative day rather than a national holiday. Before MLK there were only two national holidays. Two. So lots of people could have been considered worthy of consideration. The other issue was cost. Ron Paul is a fiscal conservative. He actually thinks your money is your money – not the government’s money. His nickname for passing bills that cost money is Dr. No. It was estimated in 1986 terms that the national holiday, that gave every federal employee a paid day off, would cost over $200 million dollars every year. What’s more important, is that we teach each generation about racism, and how it has affected those that experienced it. We must also pay homage to those who’ve paved the way for us to have a better way of life. As for the pitfall of drugs and the mean streets. I believe it’s the parents responsibility to teach self worth/LOVE, and how valuable you are, and you don’t have to sell yourself short by doing drugs or even selling them. First off, the NDAA is something that was put in place to help the American people here and aboard. Ron Paul is racist meanwhile, it was Bush then Obama who keeps bombing the brown people in the middle east so that there is corporate control there. I saw pictures of a little girls head rolling down the street after a bomb. With Ron Paul we would pull out and stop this madness. The newspapers are controlled to fire-up people into going to war. We need to interact with people in this world positively, going to war to control them is not positive. I say protect our borders and that will be it. War is fueled by special interest and promoted by television.

I live in Dominica and have for nearly nine years. The history of the proposed invasion is fascinating and finally amusing and demonstrates how removed from reality the white supremacists and ignorant KKK racists of this time were. They wanted to set up an Aryan paradise where they could reenslave an entire island nation of black people. Dominica’s popilation is 95% people of African heritage. They are proud of their heritaqge and they are very patriotic. What manner of thought process was it that imagined that fifteen or twenty white bigot mercenaries could overcome an entire nation in a late-night invasion. Even with local co-conspirators (who would have sold them out in a minute) they could not have even made it off the beach. The police (Dominica’s only armed force) had been advised of the impending attack and were set to deploy around the beach and kill every dumb-ass invader without any warning (Miranda or otherwise.) The capture of the mercenaries by the ATF undoubtedly saved their lives.

No one in the US will remember this, but the government these morons proposed to overthrow was headed by Eugenia Charles, who became a personal friend of Ronald Reagan and was the regional leader who encouraged Reagan to invade Grenada after the Stalinist putsch that overthrew and assassinated a popular but milder communist leader, Maurice Bishop. That’s right, Mike Perdue’s effort was to overthrow a popularly elected, fairly conservative Prime Minister who was a committed friend of the U.S. and of the capitalist system.

If Ron Paul had anything to do with this bats**t proposal or any of these ignorant racist boneheads, it is to his eternal shame and to the great embarassment of the people of Texas who think he represents their best thinking.

Damn, I knew Paul was a racist, but I didn’t know he was involved in something this vile.

Sure is a lot of fear of Paul on this site, trying so desperately to make him even remotely appear racist. Pretty pathetic.

I’ve known Ron for over 25 years, and will vouch that this is not who he is.
