Circumstances of Disappearance: Smith was last seen on Dec. 4, 1985, walking home from school with her boyfriend. In 2010, police re-opened Smith’s case on the 25th anniversary of her disappearance and searched three wooded areas in Hot Springs. Police told AOL that those searches were based off of interviews with a possible suspect. The only clue in the case is that Smith’s gold ring, a gift from her mother, showed up in a pawn shop not long after she went missing.

Last Seen Wearing: Pink pants, a brown jacket, and tan shoes.

Identifying Marks or Characteristics: Lynn’s ears are pierced. She has a mole on the right side of her chin. Her unusual first name comes from Smith’s mother who named her after president Bill Clinton’s stepfather. Smith’s mother had worked for Clinton’s mother as a maid and babysitter while pregnant with Smith. Clinton’s mother, a nurse anesthetist, also helped deliver Smith.

Smith’s sister Lisa Murray has been a vital force in keeping her name in the public eye over the years.

“I surely hope and pray that [none] of us die without the closure we need,” she told AOL in 2010. “The closure is not only for us but for our children and grandchildren. I don’t want to leave a legacy of our descendants wondering what ever happened to that girl with the million-dollar smile. I still have hope that we will find her one day.”
