GOOD NEWS: Black Quadruplets All Accepted To Yale

DANBURY, Conn. — Ray Crouch, a senior at Danbury High School, logged onto the computer in his family’s living room just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday and entered the Web site of the Yale admissions office.

Suddenly the screen turned blue — Yale blue — and an image of a bulldog, the university mascot, appeared, followed by “Welcome to the Class of 2014.” Ray, 18, had been offered a spot in the next freshman class, under its early-admission program. Standing behind him, his mother, Caroline, screamed.

But that was only the beginning. Moments later, Ray’s brother, Kenny, also 18, went to the Yale site and got an identical message. He was followed by their sister Carol. Same news. Then the room fell silent. Ray, Kenny and Carol are quadruplets, and their sister Martina had applied to Yale, too.

“I was thinking, it’s going to be really awkward when I don’t get in,” Martina recalled Friday.

But the computer turned blue for her as well, which prompted such an outpouring of joy from their mother that she wrestled their father, Steven, to the floor in a hug.

    love hearing news like this! hopefully the $ will come through because these kids might be future a Obama, C. Rice or a leader in whatever field they choose.

    too bad today’s youth seek fame in the entetainment industry rather than follow this route. a very small % “make it” and others are used up and burned out.

    That’s what positive role models(parents) & good upbringing produces. Young adults ready to tackle the issues that will bring about change,,,It is ok to be an educated person, not all are ready for 4 young academics. Be strong,stay strong,never give up….congratulations..

    I am so excited for theses kids and their parents. I wish them all well and they should keep reaching for the stars. My Prayers and Blessings are with them. I am so proud of these siblings whom achieved to enter Yale and whom should look forward to the positive things in life and strive to be the best what they can be.

    Now this is a great story that should be shared it is full of positive energy. I wish all four children the best of luck on their journey to success. I know their parents must be proud of each and every one of the children. I hope they stay focused and driven. We need more stories such as this story no stories full of negativity.

    wow on my mom side her grand nephew has quads too(four boys)
    born feb 14, 1996 and their 13 yrs old now
    they appeared on the 2003 or 2004 perenthood magazine
    also was on a talk show name sally<<< that talk show was back in the
    days way before oprah talk show
