Explosion At T.D. Jakes’ Home

Authorities say they are investigating a natural gas explosion at the Fort Worth, Texas, home of megachurch pastor T.D. Jakes.

Fort Worth fire spokesman Lt. Kent Worley says the blast Sunday in the sunroom of the home appears to have been an accident. Authorities say no one was injured and there was no fire. The sunroom was heavily damaged. Worley says the room had a gas-fed pool heater and a large gas-fed barbecue grill.

Jakes gave a sermon at a church prayer service for President Barack Obama on the morning he was sworn in.

Atmos Energy spokesman Ray Granado said his company ran tests and checked meters around the house after the explosion and found no leaks.

Jakes is pastor of The Potter’s House, a Dallas megachurch.

    Thank God no one was hurt. T.D. Jakes is an awesome preacher and he has a beautiful family. He is a model Pastor. He was preaching for years before he became recognized for the awesome man of God he is. No scandals, etc. I don’t understand why NewsOne does not report more on him, his family, and his achievements.

    First of all..BIG–BLU..BE CAREFUL! You are talking about a MAN OF THE KING! You don’t ever MESS with that kind of man. Trust!
    Thank god that no one was injured. T.D Jakes is an awesome speaker and teacher and I am thankful to be blessed repeatedly by substance from his word that hold so much fruit.

    Pastor Jakes is only a mere man, like the rest of us, and the minute he or anyone else that is a “humble servant” in the ‘House Of The Lord” thinks or sees his or herself otherwise, “Heaven, We Have A Problem”! He is required to pray and humble himself before God and ask for “inspection and direction”, daily. These words that comes out of the mouth of one in the pulpit our not ‘our’ words, but the words of Almighty God! If by some sin or chance of confusion, one gets it ‘mixed’ up, I would vehemently pray and suggest that he look up, beg for forgiveness, then kneel down and wait of God’s reply in the most gracious state of trembling and humility! As far tithes, in this economy is concern, “pay your rent, provide for your family, reach out a try to help one or more that has less and pray”!!! I stand on the ‘rock’ of God and I tell all members in our church family this. There is nothing in the Bible that commands us to ‘worship’ those dollars of “in God we truse”, but in the Bible we are commanded to “Trust In God”. Amen!
