I knew that was a lie, but my main reason for commenting is to let TASTY194 know that it’s SOCIOLOGY she wants people to study, not philosophy. But I agree that more blacks are imprisoned because society created the stereotype of black men being the most criminal so that’s who law enforcement officials target the most, but at the same time a large number of black men are living up to those stereotypes put on them by society. Black men have less of a chance of not being convicted than whites, but most times they are guilty of the crime, they just get more time than whites for many reasons, like juries of peers are not really going to be their peers because they’re living the street life. Yes society is partly to blame, but black men need to rise up and better themselves, even if it means holding down 2 or 3 jobs. Our ancestors and leaders fought for our ability to work amongst whites and now that we have that right you don’t want it. You give up the right to vote when convicted of a felony, but someone fought for you to have that right. And rappers need to stop glamourizing street life, shooting your own people is not cool, and most of these rappers making money off ya’ll simple minded types believing what they’re saying aren’t living that life, they’re right there with the white people on the red carpet while you’re watching from a tv behind a cage on C-block.
