Obama Withdrawing Troops From Afghanistan At “A Steady Pace”
President Obama announced Wednesday his plans to withdraw 10,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year, and a total of 33,000 by the end of next summer.
“After this initial reduction, our troops will continue coming home at a steady pace,” Obama promised during the 13-minute speech from the White House East Room.
Obama added that Osama Bin Laden out the picture, a secure withdrawal is possible.
“America, it is time to focus on nation-building here at home,” the president said.
