According to Goldsmith’s sister Omega, the slain woman and her ex had a turbulent relationship. The couple’s on-again, off-again relationship included a history of domestic violence. WLKY stumbled upon five domestic violence arrests involving the children’s father against Goldsmith.
Neighbors say that Goldsmith had recently moved into the area and had not yet established relationships with any of them. Omega adds that her sister’s move to the new subdivision home was supposed to be a fresh start for her and the boys. The sister lamented, “They loved their mama. She loved her boys, and this should make parents hug their children every night.”
