Nominated for six awards at the recent 2013 Grammys but still not “satisfied,” Hip-Hop heavyweight, Kanye West, let loose with a rant against music executives, capitalism and most surprisingly, his long-time friend and collaborator, Jay-Z while performing at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
“Remind me again why we in this shit,” West repeats with rhythmic anger. “Remind me again why the Grammys could suck my d**k. Remind me again who’s the original Super Fly. And, I got nothing but love for Hov, but I ain’t f—ing with that ‘Suit & Tie.”
Then, in what many consider to be a swipe directed at Beyonce and her $50 million sponsorship deal with Pepsi, he dug himself into an even deeper ditch:
“Can I sell your drink for you, please?” West says in a sarcastic tone. “So you can help me put on a better show, please, corporations? Can you please support me, please? Me, Kanye West? I swear I’m a nice n—a now. I swear I’ll put the pink Polo back on.”
