Christmas came early for  Memphis Grizzlies intern Brandon Henderson (pictured in yellow),whose car was stolen right before Thanksgiving. Now, Henderson will reportedly have a very Merry Christmas due to the generosity of NBA superstar Vince Carter (pictured) and his other teammates, who opened up their wallets to spring for a new car for the young employee. The gesture brought the intern to tears according to Fox News.

The players presented the new wheels to Henderson on Friday and they all sympathized with his plight. Carter says in a video on FoxSports.com, “He had it tough. He lost his car. Everybody chipped in for him for Christmas. This is the holiday season for giving, and that’s what we wanted.”

The 24-year-old intern was on a date in downtown Memphis when his 21-year-old Chrysler New Yorker was stolen. Henderson made adjustments to life sans his wheels and just settled on walking to most places because a new car was not in his budget.

Henderson, who claims he kept his misfortune to himself was shocked when presented with his spanking new 2014 Nissan Altima wrapped in a red bow.  “I don’t know how the guys found out,” Henderson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “I kept it like that because I try to keep stuff that happens at home away from work. It didn’t seem real. It seemed like a dream. It’s like stuff you see on TV. They’d didn’t have to do it, but it’s a blessing.”
