The 2015 NBA Finals have been nothing short of exciting. Each game so far has come down to the nitty-gritty, leaving fans at the edge of their seats. Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers notched their second win and took a 2-1 lead in the series. ”I’m so outside the box right now,’‘ said Cavaliers guard LeBron James during a post-game interview. ”I’m just trying to do whatever it takes to help our team win. It’s the finals, and it’s whatever it takes. This is a totally different challenge.” James netted 40 points in the 96-91 win. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry finished the game with 27 points. The Cavaliers are only two wins away from snagging their first championship title in 51 years. Read more.


President Obama Makes Push for Climate Change

President Obama and his administration will take a major move towards making our country’s environment a little greener. The administration recently announced they will take action this summer to control greenhouse-gas emissions from planes, trucks, and power plants. The Environmental Protection Agency is slated to announce that they will begin regulating carbon emissions from airlines by implementing a set of new rules. Not everyone is happy with President Obama’s plan. “The Administration seems determined to double down on the type of deeply regressive regulatory policy we’ve already seen it try to impose on lower-and-middle-class families in every state,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) in a statement. “These Obama administration regulations share several things in common with the upcoming directives: they seem motivated more by ideology than science, and they’re likely to negatively affect the economy and hurt both the cost and reliability of energy for hard-working American families and small-business owners.” Read more.


TV One Gears Up for the American Black Film Festival

TV One is furthering their efforts to bring diversity to television. The network recently announced their involvement in the American Black Film Festival, which is slated to take place in New York City this week. They revealed the finalists for their American Black Film Festival’s (ABFF) TV One Screenplay Competition, all of whom will have a chance at having their film brought to television. During the festival, TV One will also debut two new films, including Runaway Island, which features Thomas Q. Jones from Being Mary Jane and Aisha Hinds from Star Trek, and Girlfriend’s Getaway 2 featuring Essence Atkins, Garcelle Beauvais, Terri J. Vaughn, and Malinda Williams.
