Two Dead, 17 Injured At Teen Party In Florida

Ateen party turned deadly after a shooter opened fire in a Fort Myers, Florida, nightclub, killing two and wounding at least 17 people early Monday around 12:30 a.m, The New York Daily News reports.

The attack occurred during a “Swimsuit Glow Party.” The youngest person reported with injuries is 12 years old. Police have not released the names of the victims.

An eyewitness reported hearing around 30 gunshots, according to WINK-TV.

Police found several victims in the parking lot as they responded to the scene outside of Club Blu.

Authorities say gunshots were also fired at a nearby home less than one mile away in what they believe was a related incident. Three people were taken into custody and police barricaded the area in manhunt mode, searching for suspects. As of Monday morning, no official arrests have been made.

Club Blu shared their condolences via Facebook, remorseful an evening of fun transformed into chaos – forever stained with bloodshed.

Witnesses say the scene was a “mad house,” as people ran out of the club, ducking for cover.

“All people were saying was their friends’ names to see if they’re okay — a lot of phone calls to parents,” an eyewitness named Brian Martin told WINK. “But it was one of the scariest sights to just see people come pouring out like that.”

Another witness named Olivia told The Daily News she saw a young man lying unconscious on the floor. “He was just trying to fight for his life. The little boy was out,” she said.

According to The Daily News, three victims remain hospitalized.

One victim, identified as Timothy Settles, posted a silent video of himself on Facebook lying in a hospital bed with the caption, “I don’t want to die.”

This is the third shooting in Florida after 49 people were killed at Pulse Nightclub last month. In October, one person was killed, while several others were injured during a shooting at Zombicon, a yearly Halloween event.
