Kim Porter was laid to rest in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, on Saturday, November 24. The beautiful service was shown all over social media and many people come out to say goodbye to the model, actress and mother. Now, her oldest son, Quincy Brown, is speaking out publicly for the first time since the service.

The 27-year-old wrote on Instagram, “To my family, friends, Qrew, entertainment colleagues and all of my family’s supporters… Thank you for your endless love, condolences, best wishes and positive energy through the toughest heartbreak I will ever encounter. Please know that your wishes of strength have united us as a family closer than ever. Heaven has gained a special angel to look over ALL of us. From the bottom of my heart….Thank Y’all.” The caption included a photo of himself, Diddy and his father Albert Joseph Brown III, also known as R&B singer Al B. Sure.

The service was conducted by TD Jakes and Faith Evans sang a powerful rendition of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.” At the burial, Diddy and Kim’s family also released doves. Watch the touching clip.

Porter died on Nov. 15, exactly one month before her birthday, on December 15, in her Toluca Lake, California, home. She was only 47 years old. The cause of death has not been confirmed, but she was reportedly receiving treatment for pneumonia and went into cardiac arrest.

Rest in peace, Kim Porter.
