There are many disturbing interviews in the Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly,” which aired again last night and took over social media. One of the most troubling people interviewed is R. Kelly‘s older brother Bruce who is talking while incarcerated. Many have asked why he is behind bars and now his rap sheet has hit the Internet.
Oxygen.com reports, “Bruce Kelly is currently incarcerated at Chicago’s Cook County jail for theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding arrest warrant, Sam Randall, the communications director at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed to Oxygen.com on Friday. His bond is currently set at $100,000.” He allegedly has a court date next month.
But those are just the most recent charges. He has also been arrested for criminal trespass, theft and retail theft, according to court documents.
One of the most disturbing things Bruce said in the docuseries was, “Robert likes younger women. You have people who have fetishes about different things. I like older women. Go figure, you know. But that’s just a preference. … Everyone has preferences. So what is the big deal? What’s the big issue with my brother?”
The big deal is the docuseries examines more than two decades of R. Kelly allegedly sexually assaulting children and women. The firsthand accounts are horrific and anyone, including his brother, who would defend him is morally bankrupt and does not value the lives of Black women and girls.
