The chips are falling for R. Kelly and his team. An arrest warrant has reportedly been issued for R. Kelly’s former manager, James Mason, for allegedly threatening to kill Joycelyn Savage’s father. Joycelyn is the 23-year-old who has reportedly been brainwashed and is in R. Kelly’s sex cult.
CNN.com reports, “The incident, which allegedly took place in May 2018, was reported by Timothy Savage to Henry County police. Savage claims his daughter is being held against her will by R. Kelly and Mason threatened him for speaking out about it… In an incident report obtained by CNN, Timothy Savage stated that Mason said, ‘I’m gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I’m gonna get you, I’m going to f***ing kill you.'”
When the warrant was issued in July, the judge cited “terroristic threats and acts.” The Savages claim they have not seen their daughter in two years. Mason declined to comment to CNN.com.
Speaking of Joycelyn Savage, reportedly R. Kelly’s current manager, Don Russell, has been harassing her family as well. Her father called the police on January 3 and “claimed he was receiving threats by a man named Don Russell, who is the manager for R. Kelly.” Russell allegedly sent text messages the morning of the premiere of “Surviving R. Kelly” that read “it would be best for him and his family if the documentary does not air.” Sounds like some folks in Kelly’s camp are getting anxious.
Executive produced by Dream Hampton, the docu-series “Surviving R. Kelly” detailed accounts from people in Kelly’s circle, including the singer’s brother, Bruce, who said Kelly had a “preference” for young women and singer Sparkle (the aunt of the 14-year-old in the sex tape) who testified against him in court.
Several survivors also spoke out. For their sake, let’s hope they receive justice.
