The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner released a statement that read, “On Nov. 16, 2018, an autopsy was performed on Porter and a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation. It was later determined Porter died from lobar pneumonia. The manner of death was certified as natural.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, “The most common cause of bacterial pneumonia in the U.S. is Streptococcus pneumoniae. This type of pneumonia can occur on its own or after you’ve had a cold or the flu. It may affect one part (lobe) of the lung, a condition called lobar pneumonia.”

Porter died exactly one month before her birthday, which is Dec. 15. She was laid to rest in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, on Saturday, Nov. 24. The beautiful service was shown all over social media and many came out to say goodbye to the model, actress and mother.

After the service, her oldest son, Quincy Brown, 27, wrote on Instagram, “To my family, friends, Qrew, entertainment colleagues and all of my family’s supporters… Thank you for your endless love, condolences, best wishes and positive energy through the toughest heartbreak I will ever encounter. Please know that your wishes of strength have united us as a family closer than ever. Heaven has gained a special angel to look over ALL of us. From the bottom of my heart….Thank Y’all.”

The caption included a photo of himself, Diddy and his father Albert Joseph Brown III, also known as R&B singer Al B. Sure.
